Back porch sitting
Outdoor Reflection

It was a beautiful January afternoon with temps in the 60’s and a slight breeze in the air. I was sitting on the back patio taking a breather and reflecting on all the blessings from this year. Just like any mom, I’m doing multiple things in many directions. However, we all deserve a breather now and then. While I had a moment between housework tasks and a napping baby, I took some time out for myself.

First Bow Harvest

While looking out to the field, lots of memories came to mind that I made back there. From the great ones, to the not so great. From my first deer hunt, to my first miss. Experienced my first bow kill and even my first official turkey hunt. I was even blessed with tagging two nice bucks from the back door after having our baby a few months prior. That field has been very good to me.

Tagged Out

Memories that are made in the outdoors last way longer then material things or video games. I can recall almost every one of mine from childhood, to adulthood. From fishing with my grandfather, to my latest hunt. Even exploring the woods with my brother, to exploring woods with my little boy. Sharing those moments with others, especially your kids makes the memories that much sweeter.

Sharing Experience

Enjoying the serenity of the outdoors sure does the soul some good. It’s just so beautiful and I couldn’t ask for a better setting right then. It wasn’t hot or cold. The weather was perfect and calm. Best of all, there was no bugs because hey it’s January. The only thing that could’ve made it even better is if the deer would come on out into the field. I’d sit out there all day if I could.

Reflecting

Majority of my life I’ve lived in the country and wouldn’t trade it for the world. There’s so much peaceful inspiration to gain from this beauty that God created. There’s also plenty of room for my boys to be active while they grow up and explore the outdoors. Plenty of land to hunt and lots of game species to choose from. As well as plenty of wildlife to watch and admire. God bless this great country life!!!
