Where does your trail lead?

Walking Trails

You can make a trail or let it flow with the land, but they all have a destination. Either way erosions might occur, obstacles could block your way, and predators could attack if they wanted to. Will that make you give up and turn back, or will you overcome those obstacles and keep going? Whatever you do, the Heavenly Father is there walking with you if you only let him.

Trails

Now let’s look at your trail. Obviously it’ll lead somewhere so what is your ideal destination? Will it lead to the light or darkness. Will it lead to the gates or the flames? The chosen destination will be determined by your decisions and actions along the way.

Decisions and Actions…

Erosions can create ruts and holes that you’ll have to fix or fill in. Obstacles might fall or generally block your path. From physical ones like trees or debris, to spiritual ones like worldly distractions or demonic temptations. Even predators could attack, whether it be physical ones or spiritual ones.

Weapons

So the question is, will you conquer those obstacles and predators or will you let them overtake you? To conquer a predator, use a weapon. That weapon could be physical like a bow and gun, or spiritual like the Word of God. As written in Rom. 8:37, “In all these things we are more then conquerors through him who loves us.” He created us to conquer over all evil if we use the right weapons.

Weapon Choice

Along the way, you’ll face many trials and temptations which will test the strength of your faith.  As written in James 1:2&3 “Consider it pure joy whenever you face trials of all kinds, because the testing of your faith develops perseverance.” No matter what you face, Jesus is there with you. He’ll walk with you through the good times and carry you through the bad. Whether you welcome his presence or not.

Feeling Lost

Looking to God

If your struggling with something or just feel lost, he’ll be there to guide and watch over you. Nothing is ever too big for him to handle. As written in Psalms 32:8 Jesus says, “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.” So if he teaches and counsels you then you know that he won’t lead you down the wrong trail.

However if you follow the trail to darkness, only suffering and death will be waiting for you. Jesus will place certain people and circumstances in your way to hopefully draw you back to the light, but ultimately it’s your choice. He loves us so much that he gave us free will to choose his love. He didn’t want to just take it. Let’s face it, who wants to be loved by force when you gain so much more by love that’s chosen.

The Way…

Lifting up to Him

The way you live your life is how you conquer things along that trail. Yes we all slip up and fall short from time to time, but God is merciful and will forgive us if we repent. However if we don’t repent for our sins, we’ll perish and not be forgiven. Jesus is the way to the Father as written in John 14:6 Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” So technically he’s our guide down the trail of life.

Praising God

Now if you been on the fence, slipped off the trail, or just not made that decision yet you can give yourself a fresh start right now. Just give your heart back to him who created and loves us by asking for his forgiveness in prayer. Pray from your heart and set your feet back on the right trail. If you don’t have someone to guide you in prayer, allow me to pray with you here…

“Dear Jesus, I thank you for giving me life and never turning your back on me. I thank you for always being there beside me, even when I failed to acknowledge your presence. Please forgive me of my sins and come into my heart. Guide and direct my life so that I may one day enter through the gates of Heaven. Amen.”

Keep the Faith…

If you prayed that from your heart, I encourage you to go forth and share it with others. Jesus instructed us to be fishers of men and go out to spread the gospel or Word of God. There’s not just one way to do that so how you do it is up to you. The important thing is to keep the faith while traveling down the right trail and be a light to others walking along their own trail. So where does YOUR trail lead? That’s ultimately up to you.
