It took me 27 years but I finally did it! I finally met a few other girls who loved hunting the way I do. Not just hunting, but also shared the love of running hounds. It’s crazy how social media can allow us to meet people who don’t live close by but share the same interests. I use to hate social media but I’m so glad now that I gave in and got into it because otherwise I would have never met one of my best friends!
Meeting Chelsea
I started following a girl named Chelsea Bryan on Instagram. Honestly, she should be a model! But she is just a down home country girl like me. A girl who lives not for the thrill of the kill, but for the sound of the hound. A girl who helps provide meals for her family by hunting, fishing and gardening. How about I let her tell y’all a little bit more from her own words;
Her Story
“Hey y’all! Chelsea here! I’ve always loved the outdoors. You could always find me outside with my brothers building forts or exploring the woods when we were younger. My parents didn’t hunt so I didn’t get into hunting until I met my now husband, Will. He got me into deer hunting when we first started dating in 2013.
I got my first bluetick in 2014 and have been in love with the breed ever since. I coonhunt now with my blue dog, Brandy Leigh. She’s a Grand Champion on the bench and plan to get that hall of fame title! Together we run the woods of North Carolina and I don’t want it any other way. Not only is she my hunting partner but she’s my best friend.
Outside of coon hunting, I still deer, dove and duck hunt. I also enjoy fishing as well. Currently we have a black lab in training for duck hunting and we cannot wait to have him home for the up coming season! I can’t wait to continue on in these sports and one day pass the tradition down to my kids!“
Friendship
Seriously, she is goals for me. Hard working, hard hunting and hard providing. I thank God for this friendship I have found. I thank God that after all of these years, I finally know a few girls who enjoy the things I do. Thanks for reading and stay in the woods y’all!
