Becoming A Mother

My story begins when I met my husband. He already had a little boy who was six at the time. At first I wasn’t sure if I was ready to be a mom yet, but it seemed to just come naturally for me. It didn’t take me no time to get attached to that child. He was the cutest little sweetheart.

Love of a Child

Before we got married, I kept him on the nights that his dad had to work. One night before bed he gave me a hug and said, “Goodnight Momma, I love you”. My heart melted and I stood there in shock. Then I had to tell his dad what happened. He was shocked but so happy. I guess you could say that I became an instant mom.

After being married for 2 1/2 years and with lots of prayers, the opportunity finally came that allowed me to adopt him. We asked him if he wanted me to be his legal mother and with no hesitation he said yes. I was already claiming him as my own, but this would make it fully legal. That night we celebrated together as a family.

A month and a half later I’m sitting in a deer stand sicker than a dog. That’s when I found out I was pregnant hunting with a joyous gift. God sure knew what he was doing there. So there I was hunting while pregnant through deer season with all the changes starting. I even continued hunting through most of the following turkey season. However I did have to stop in my final two weeks due to restrictions. Two days after Mother’s Day in 2018 we welcomed a beautiful baby boy.

Family

Alot of prayers were said during the many difficult moments, but thank God everything turned out just fine. I might’ve endured alot, but holding this little miracle angel in my arms made it all worth it. All the doubt and fears I had melted away with one look into my son’s gorgious blue eyes. Then seeing him being held by his older brother for the first time made me so happy. Our family was now complete.

Becoming a mom to these 2 amazing boys has been such a blessing in my life. I thank God for an amazing mother being a great supporter and example to live by. I know God has big plans for both of my boys.
