This is how my outdoor adventures began…

Fran

You could say, I wasn’t always the outdoor type. You could also say when I was younger, I was more of a computer geek then outdoorsy. You could even say, I was a late bloomer learning about the outdoors. But once, I got my feet wet there was no stopping me.

It all Started

It all started when I meet my husband, he introduced me to hunting, fishing, and the great  outdoors. I’ll be ever so grateful to him for showing me the lifestyle. That was a true blessing.

Hunting allows me to be more active in the outdoors. It’s a lifestyle I chose. It can be very challenging and frustrating at times, but the great feeling of accomplishment you get when you harvest your animal is worth it. Especially when your able to provide fresh meat for your family.

Hunting is not just about the trophy! The true trophy is about the memories and awesome friends you make along the way. To me hunting is about growth and educating each other.  Respecting one another’s views. On that note, that’s why I decided to become a Manitoba license guide and to join PROIS. I was able to achieve my goal of a licensed guide last year in 2019.

Bear Harvest

I took my first hunter out on a fall bear hunt with Crosstrails Adventures, which is a hunting & fishing guided outfitter business. It’s a business that my husband and myself own. Being able to share my knowledge about bears to the hunter is an awesome feeling. To be able to have your hunter on a successful hunt is a bonus. I love the fact that I get to help the hunters achieve their dreams. While making new friends and having tons of memories.

Supporting Others

I was blessed to be able to join PROIS. Which is a women’s group supporting women in the hunting and fishing industry. I am excited to be a part of Prois helping and empowering other women in the hunting industry. I support all hunters. We need to lift each other up and help each other. This is a start in all, I want to achieve and accomplish. We all have goals and dreams we want to achieve. Here is me taking that leap…
